Work Truck Depot Names Utility Equipment Rental Veteran Mike Kimzey as Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts

Work Truck Depot (WTD), a specialty utility equipment rental company, today named Mike Kimzey as Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts, effective June 15, 2026. Kimzey will lead WTD’s largest customer relationships and national-account growth strategy for bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialty utility equipment, partnering with investor-owned utilities and the nation’s leading utility contractors.

Kimzey brings more than two decades of commercial leadership in the specialty and industrial equipment rental industry. He joins WTD from IT8 Engineering / SteelCraft, where he served as Executive SVP of Sales and Operations across MiddleGround Capital portfolio companies. Earlier in his career he led U.S. and Canada Mega Projects strategy as Senior Director of Strategic Sales at Herc Rentals, and held the role of Vice President of Strategic Accounts for the U.S. and Canada at both Custom Truck One Source and NESCO Specialty Rentals. He began in the rental industry in 2001 and advanced through progressively senior sales and management positions at Hertz Equipment Rental and United Rentals.

At WTD, Kimzey will be responsible for expanding master service agreements (MSAs), driving fleet utilization across strategic accounts, and deepening and diversifying the company’s national-account relationships.

“Mike brings outstanding relationships and shares our belief in a customer-centric approach to growing the business,” said Bob Dudzinski, Chief Commercial Officer and co-owner of Work Truck Depot. “He understands our customers’ expectations when buying or renting equipment, and he appreciates the sense of urgency required to make them successful. When our customers succeed, we succeed.”

“We are building a company that performs at a level the legacy players can’t match on responsiveness, and that requires top-tier talent on the strategic accounts that matter most,” said Jay Benjamin, Chief Executive Officer and co-owner. “Mike’s track record speaks for itself, and his arrival accelerates our national-account strategy at a pivotal moment in WTD’s growth.”

Kimzey’s appointment reflects WTD’s continued investment in its commercial organization as it scales its direct-to-jobsite delivery model for bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialty utility equipment. The company differentiates on three pillars — expedited delivery, transparent communication, and never waiting for a quote — positioning it against generalist competitors in the specialty utility equipment market.

“After 25 years on every side of the equipment rental business, I’ve never been more excited,” said Mike Kimzey, Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts. “This team is driven to deliver, and the passion for customer service is infectious. Utilities and contractors need a strong alternative in the market — one that will listen, take their feedback, and grow alongside them, and that’s exactly what we’re building.”
